Nail art is a catwalk sensation

The latest catwalk trend is bespoke nail fashion for runway models, according to some of the industry’s main movers and shakers.

Although previously considered tacky, nail art is now an essential accessory for designers showcasing their collections. The shade of polish is carefully selected to complement the colours on show.

Candice Manacchio, a nail and fashion specialist from CND Nails, told the New York Daily News: “Nails are the ultimate accessory. They’re just as important as your hair, your make-up, your iPhone case and your shoes for putting together a coordinated look.”

Companies such as CND, OPI, Deborah Lippmann, Dashing Diva and Essie provide designers with the latest looks. Colour is certainly not the only option to decide upon – with pattern, texture and shape also under consideration.

What was once thought to be a touch tacky is now a must-have accessory. Expect to see new-season nail design alongside the latest collections for the foreseeable future.
